Reflection and Evaluation of Current Acheivment
This year I have successfully started a degree course at Coventry University. So far I have achieved a high standard of work and feel that I am on target for a 2.1 or 1st degree. My first section of work known as the ALL, was graded to 85% which would indicate a 1st on that particular piece of work, I should hope to be able to continue this high level of achievement so that I may realise my goal. I do however recognise that I have not achieved such a high grade across all aspects of my course and believe to be achieving a 2.1 in other sections. Although this is suitable to meet my career university goal, I would still like to aim for a 1st.
Under personal reflective-ness, I feel that my time at university has helped me to mature as a person and have developed many new life skills. I believe that living by myself has helped me to be able to work by myself, a skill that I outlined as a benefit I would like to achieve whilst at university.
I feel that I have adapted to university life well and have not found the ‘bridge’ back into education difficult. I am achieving a high grading of work and believe that this will ultimately lead to my aspiration of securing a good quality degree. Although I am currently achieving a high standard it is important to ensure that this continues. I believe that there are gaps in my knowledge which should be addressed so that I can achieve an even higher grade of work. I have addressed this issue within my mathematics module and am receiving extra tuition.
Currently I am a competent pilot of light aircraft as I have completed my PPL (Private Pilots Licence) but in the future I will obviously have to train on larger craft to meet my main career aspiration. To ensure that this does not change I continually remind myself of training that I was given through notes and flight logs. My instructor told me that “a pilot is only as good as his last flight”, so I must always ensure I keep my training fresh in my mind.
I believe that I have painted a very clear picture about myself. I have very organised career aspirations and understand what I must do to successfully meet these. I understand where I currently am academically and where I need to be in the future, which I feel is very important to reach where I want to be in the future.
